Responsibilities - What You Will Accomplish

We are seeking a motivated Building Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team. Based in our Miami office, you will work within a multidisciplinary group of engineers and project managers to design, coordinate, and deliver MEP systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial buildings. You’ll be involved in all project phases from concept and design to construction and commissioning ensuring that systems are efficient, compliant, and aligned with client expectations.

Engineering and design:

  • Lead and coordinate the MEP scope of building projects, ensuring quality deliverables, technical accuracy, and on-time delivery
  • Design and prepare plans, specifications, and documentation for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
  • Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and equipment sizing using industry-standard tools
  • Conduct technical evaluations, system assessments, and site inspections
  • Review and manage design changes, RFIs, and addenda
  • Provide construction administration support and equipment commissioning oversight
  • Contribute to proposal writing, cost estimation, and project bidding

Project management and coordination:

  • Plan and manage multiple designs and projects simultaneously
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients, architects, and contractors
  • Lead coordination meetings with project stakeholders
  • Track budgets, deliverables, and resource allocation throughout each project lifecycle
  • Represent the company with professionalism and technical expertise in client meetings and presentations

  • Education and Certifications:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience : 5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design for building systems within a consulting engineering or construction environment
  • Technical skills : 
    • Knowledge of Florida Building Code (FBC 2023) and Miami-Dade AHJ requirements
    • Knowledge of U.S. standards (IBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, IMC, IPC, etc.)
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite; Revit MEP experience a strong plus
  • Preferred qualifications: (not required)
    • Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish) is an advantage for cross-border collaboration
