Responsibilities
Based in our brand-new Sherbrooke office, you will join a collaborative and agile team and play an active role in the development of NEOKA’s presence in the region. You will use your expertise in building mechanical systems and project management to take ownership of technical mandates and contribute to a wide range of institutional, commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
You will be involved in the design, planning, coordination, and follow-up of HVAC, plumbing, and heating systems, from needs analysis and feasibility studies through to project execution and delivery.
• Take ownership of technical mandates and projects, from needs analysis through to the completion and follow-up of deliverables
• Conduct technical feasibility studies for industrial projects, including needs analysis, evaluation of potential solutions, identification of technical constraints, and preparation of recommendations
• Participate in the design of building mechanical systems, including ventilation, air conditioning, heating, and plumbing systems
• Prepare sketches, mechanical diagrams, and site surveys, particularly in industrial and manufacturing environments
• Prepare and coordinate drawings with internal and external stakeholders
• Read, interpret, and coordinate multidisciplinary drawings involving mechanical, structural, electrical, and architectural disciplines
• Prepare, write, and review technical specifications and engineering reports
• Perform mechanical building load calculations and other technical analyses
• Ensure the compliance of drawings and specifications with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and project requirements
• Consult with suppliers and manufacturers to validate equipment, products, and technical solutions
• Coordinate and monitor projects with clients and project stakeholders, including project requirements, schedules, deliverables, and technical issues
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical follow-up throughout project execution
• Participate in the preparation of construction cost estimates and project budgets
• Maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, and other project stakeholders
• Contribute to identifying and resolving technical issues throughout project implementation

Ideal Candidate
Education and Certifications :
• College diploma (DEC) in Building Mechanical Systems or another relevant qualification
- Experience:
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in building mechanical systems, including HVAC, heating, and plumbing
• Proven experience in engineering consulting; experience in industrial and/or agri-food environments is an asset - Knowledge & Skills:
• Strong knowledge of building mechanical systems and their design principles
• Good knowledge of applicable building codes and standards, including the National Building Code and ASHRAE standards
• Strong French communication skills, both oral and written; English is an asset - Software Proficiency:
• Microsoft Office Suite
• AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP are an asset - Certifications:
• ASP Construction card is an asset

Position Details
- Full-time (40 hours/week) – Permanent position
- Based in Sherbrooke, Quebec (80 rue Wellington Sud)
- Travel required within Sherbrooke, the Eastern Townships, and to client sites
- Hybrid work model (office – client sites – up to 2 days of remote work per week)Competitive
- compensation starting at $75,000/year, based on experience and qualifications
- Monthly professional allowance: $20 for cell phone expenses and 50% reimbursement of public transit pass
