Engineer/EIT in Buildings Mechanics MEP – Montréal
Responsibilities
Engineering and Design :
• Supervise and coordinate the mechanical portion of projects, ensuring the quality of deliverables and adherence to schedules
• Lead the design and production of plans and specifications for building mechanical systems (including fire protection)
• Conduct studies, load calculations, technical assessments, and on-site inspections
• Draft and review technical reports and engineering documentation
• Manage design changes and addenda, producing all associated documents
• Perform construction supervision and equipment commissioning
• Contribute to the preparation of service proposals and project bids
Project Management and Coordination:
• Oversee and coordinate mechanical project activities while maintaining deliverable quality and timelines
• Maintain strong client relationships and effectively communicate technical and project management aspects
• Coordinate with professionals, contractors, and other project stakeholders
• Lead regular meetings and progress reviews with clients
• Prepare project budgets and detailed work schedules

Ideal Candidate
Education and Certifications :
- Education
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Building Engineering, or Construction Engineering with a focus on building systems, or any other relevant degree
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) – Engineer or Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
- ASP Construction Safety Certificate
- Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical design within the consulting or building engineering sector
- Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficiency in French and English (oral and written)
- Strong understanding of building codes and standards (Building Code, NFPA, ASHRAE, etc.)
- Software proficiency: AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
- Assets (not required):
- Knowledge of Revit MEP

Position Details
- Full-time (40 hours/week) – Permanent position
- Based in Montréal (Metro McGill – 630 Sherbrooke St. W, Montréal, QC, Canada)
- Travel zone within Montréal and surrounding areas
- Hybrid work model (office – client site – remote work up to 2 days per week)
- Competitive annual salary: $75,000 to $85,000 CAD, negotiable based on profile and experience
- Monthly professional allowance: $20 for cell phone expenses and 50% reimbursement of public transit pass
